Read the case study below:
Ali is working at an entry level job as an Automotive Test Engineer. His job is to come up with different ideas to test the safety of car drivers' door. He was given the list and details of the existing procedure to test that particular product. Since there was an upgrade in the product, his manager asked him to modify the existing procedures to reflect the upgrade. Ali came up with two ideas. However, his manager rejected both ideas and told him that it had to be comprehensive. Ali tried again. This time he made sure that his idea tested all the performance metric and provided the reasoning of the outcome. However, his manager (John) rejected his idea again without providing any satisfactory explanation. He was told not to present his method in the project meeting.
Given that the behavior of manager is not rational, do you think this is due to any cultural conflict? What would you do if you were in the place of Ali? Provide recommendations.
