The bones of human arms and bird wings are said to be homologous organs. Homologous organs are those which are similar in structure but dissimilar in their functions. These structures are inherited from a common ancestor and have similar developmental pattern. They have the same type of bones, blood vessels, nerves, muscles, etc. but perform different functions in different animals.
