Write a compound inequality to represent all of the numbers between -4 and 6.

We will use x as our variable.

We know that x must be greater than -4, so -4<x

We also know that x must be less than 6, so x<6

If you were to put these together, you would get the compound inequality -4<x<6.

If you wanted to include -4 and 6 (you don't for the is question, but for future reference), use ≤ and ≥ instead of < and >.
