A denotation is the literal definition of a word.

Your definition of cool would be: attractive, cold, self-calm, composure. There are three different definition of cool. Cool can mean attractive someone looks nice and fashionably. Cold where the temperature outside is almost unbearable. Then there is self-calm to chill out and be calm and relaxed.
