The Grand Banks of Newfoundland is a portion of the North American continental shelf in the Atlantic Ocean which is one of the environments that create the largest fishing area in the world.
It is southeast of the island of Newfoundland, being a famous international fishing bank that extends some 560 km, from north to south, and 675 km, from east to west, with an area of 282,500 km². They are shallow waters.
