Subsidization is often given by lowering the amount of tax that a certain business need to pay to the government.
Even though subsidization will reduce government income, The government often provide this to a struggling business or industries in order to keep the unemployment rate low. (low unemployment rate tend to resulted in higher public support for the next election)
