The Plains cultural area extended from southern Manitoba and the Mississippi River westward to the Rocky Mountains, and from the North Saskatchewan River into Texas. The “Plains” were indigenous people in Canada. Before they had horses they hunted for Buffalos.
Explanation: People in this area survived by following and hunting large herds of buffalo on the grasslands. The buffalo were a source of food, shelter, and tools.
