7y-1=2(y+3)-2 What is y? Need this done by March 5.

expand the brackets

7y-1=2y+4

move variable to the left side by changing the sign

7y-2y-1=4

do the same thing to the constant

7y-2y=1+4

equal to 5y=5

therefore y=q1
