Due to the relationship and connection between Beowulf and King Hrothgar, his fellow soldiers are inspired to follow and trust as Beowulf illuminates his bravery, perseverance, and most importantly loyalty.
Since Beowulf was the leading character and he was owing king Hrothgar a great debt of gratitude because of his father. Beowulf had to display loyalty to the king Hrothgar by frighting Grendel and this made his soldiers to be loyal and had full trust in him as well.
