Just outside Mexicali is Mexico's largest Chinatown. Here, around 5,000 Chinese people live. This occurred because of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which was an American ban on Chinese immigrants. This caused many Chinese immigrants to reside in Mexico, creating this Chinatown.
