so if it says the paragraph minimum is 5 sentences can i still put 5 sentences but nothing over 5 sentences?

Yes, you can only use five sentences, because it’s the minimum, but nothing under 5 sentences is acceptable. However, striving for more than five sentences is more than acceptable and will make your teacher proud.
