a) Finding value of y:

8y+4+4y+7=107

12y+11=107

12y =107-11

12y =96

y = 96/12

y = 8

b) RS= 8y+4

= 8(8)+4

= 64+4

= 68

ST= 4y+7

= 4(8)+7

= 32+7

= 39
