The line passes through the points (8,-4) and (6,2). So, its slope is

[tex]m=\dfrac{2-(-4)}{6-8}[/tex]

[tex]m=\dfrac{2+4}{-2}[/tex]

[tex]m=\dfrac{6}{-2}[/tex]

[tex]m=-3[/tex]

Therefore, the slope of the line is -3.
