The price s of a pair of shoes plus 5% sales tax. i came up with s 0.05s, but i don't know why the s is next to the 0.05 can you please explain why? thanks!

s represents the price of the shoes and you have to multiply that number times the 5% sales tax (0.05) because its 5 cents for every dollar. the equation would be:

Price=S+(S x 0.05)
