The phrase "Don't fear for me" gives the impression that the speaker is
in a dangerous situation, perhaps life or death. Even though the speaker
says, "Don't fear for me," does that mean he or she is not afraid? No,
it does not. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to
do what has to be done despite that fear. This character is expressing
courage in the face of danger.
