a shopper purchased 4 tables and 2 chairs for $200 and 2 tables and 7 chairs for $400. what is the cost of each table and each chair

So you would add up the total number of items and thats 15 in all. Then the total price which would be 600. Then 600 divided by 15 = 40$. So each item would be 40$.

P.S. I am not 100% sure I am correct on this answer, if I am wrong please let me know
