The answer is 8.
If you use the order of operations you will multiply the 5 and the 3 first and get: [tex] \frac{1+15}{2} [/tex]
Then you add the numerators to get [tex] \frac{16}{2} [/tex] which would equal 8 since you divide the numerator by the denominator
