To find the linear relationship we need

  • two points on the line: (0,3), (2,4)
  • and the slope = [tex]\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1} =\frac{4-3}{2-0} =\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

Now lets put any one point on the line such as (0,3) and the slope into the point-slope form:

      [tex]y - 3 = (\frac{1}{2} )(x-0)\\y = \frac{1}{2}x + 3[/tex]
