Six times a number is decreased by 20 which is equal to three times the number increased by 4. what is the number?​

Let the number be a
6a - 20 = 3a + 4
Group like terms
6a - 3a = 20 + 4
3a = 24
divide through by 3
a = 8
Therefore the number is 8
