This can be found as shown below:

[tex]\begin{gathered} \sqrt[]{48} \\ =\sqrt[]{16\times3} \\ =\sqrt[]{16}\times\sqrt[]{3} \\ =4\sqrt[]{3} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Let us check for root 3 from the square root table

[tex]\sqrt[]{3}=1.732[/tex]

Therefore,

[tex]\begin{gathered} 4\sqrt[]{3} \\ =4\times1.732 \\ =6.928 \\ \approx6.9(nearest\text{ tenth)} \end{gathered}[/tex]
