3(t - 4) = 2t + 1 Distribute the factor 3

3t -12 = 2t+1 subtract 2t from both sides

3t -2t -12 = 1 Add 12 to both sides

t=1+12 Add those constants

t=13

2) Note that in this equation, t is 13 units, i.e. the Solution Set S={13}
