The reason the values are approximately the same is:
When you aim higher with the same initial speed then the projectile will move less in the horizontal plane, and when you aim lowe the object will impact the floor sooner. So, when those angles are used it means that one is crashing onto the ground sooner, and the other is "flying" higher and moving less in the horizontal.
