step 1

convert mixed number to an improper fraction

3 2/5=3+2/5=17/5

step 2

substitute

17/5:51/15

Multiply in cross

17(15)/(5*51)

=(17*3)/(51)

REmember that

17/51=1/3

so

=3/3

=1
