To solve,

[tex]\frac{1}{4\text{ }}\text{ divide by 2 = }\frac{1}{4}(\frac{1}{2})=\frac{1}{8}[/tex]

Similarly,

[tex]4\frac{3}{4}+2\frac{1}{8}=\text{ }\frac{19}{4}+\frac{17}{8}=\frac{19(2)+17}{8}=\frac{38+17}{8}=\frac{55}{88}[/tex]

Thus the answers are 1/8 and 55/8.
