2 Calculate the slope between the points (4,-3) and (-6,2)

We can calculate the slope of two points P1 and P2 as:

[tex]m=\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

For points (4,-3) and (-6,2) the slope is:

[tex]m=\frac{2-(-3)}{-6-4}=\frac{2+3}{-10}=\frac{5}{-10}=-\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

The slope is m=-1/2.
