The gradient (or slope) formula is:

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

the slope is change in y's over change in x's.

Now, we simply put the coordinates into formula and figure the answer out!

[tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} \\ -4=\frac{y-10_{}}{-2-12_{}} \\ -4=\frac{y-10}{-14} \\ 56=y-10 \\ y=56+10 \\ y=66 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The coordinate of y is 66
