A synecdoche is a figure of speech  in which a term for a part of something refers to the whole of something or vice versa, and the specific for the general, the general for the specific, or the material for the thing made from it. That is well know to be confused with the Metonymy. Also sorry if I confused you. (◕‿◕✿)
