The three types of meteorites are as follows:
Stony meteorite - made of rock and has two sub-classifications: chondrites and achondrites
Iron meteorite - made of iron metal and pure nickel which could come from asteroids, and are very rare
Stony-iron meteorite - has both stone and metal characteristics and can be easily seen by the naked eye
