A colony of ants has 50,000 members. Sam thinks the colony will grow at a rate of 4.5% each hour. About how many ants should he expect there to be in the colony after 10 hours

Respuesta :

The formula for exponential growth (growing at a percentage) is

(initial amount) x 1 + (the percentage in decimal form)^(time)

In this case, it would be

50,000(1.045)^10

Putting that into a calculator, what do you think the answer is?
