Producers are at the bottom of the chain.(Plants,herbs etc.) The consumers eat the producers. Herbivores only eat plant related food, they will never eat meat. Carnivores will only eat meat related food. Scavengers are usually birds or some other type of mammal that eat dead animals. Last but not least decomposers eat a dead specimen and filter the soil with nutrients for future plants to grow on.
