The puritans believed that god had chosen certain people to go to heaven. This believed is known as predestination.

Predestination is actually a Calvinist belief, embraced by puritanism, that one is chosen by God prior to be born to be saved or to be d#mned.

Puritanism was a religious movement seeking for a reformation which emerged within the Church of England in the late 1500s.

The Puritans believed that the Bible was God's true law.
