First u find out the LCM least common multiple
This is 24
3/8 changes to 9/24
To get this you multiply eight by three and three by three

1/12 changes to 2/24
To get this you multiply twelve by two and one by two

Next subtract 9-2 and u will get 7
This will be 7/12 and u cant simplify this
