The answer is male elders. In terms of decision making in a
family-based community, the elder male individuals are the ones making the
decisions. The men had greater influence than women in Africa, men have dominated
women, but women in Africa had more freedom than most countries. Elders of the
community, or old men had huge amount of powers and influences over the
extended household in the community.
