"Organized religion" was used to help spread the messages of the abolitionist and temperance movements.
The abolitionist emphasized on the end of slavery of every kind and played an important role towards the elimination of this institution whiles the temperance movements started as a temperance utilization of alcohol but later expanded an included many other issues.
