PCPs are good for seasonal troubles, fever, cold a sudden troubles or some aches and pains that are not excruciating. Sometimes when the problem persist and come back after a sudden period, it might be a good idea to go to a specialist. Like the pcp is taking care of the headache but the treatment is not giving you enough comfort, it is a good idea to go to a specialist.
