sine is opposite over hypotenuse

look at triangle

opposite to angle 70 degrees is a side of length 13
the hypotenuse is x

sin(70) = 13 / x
x sin (70) = 13
x = 13 / sin(70)
x ≈ 13.834311

You would use sine. opp/hyp
sin 70­°=13/x
x(sin 70°)=13
x=13/sin 70°
=13.8
